Ashley is as passionate as she is creative and driven by the need to solve problems. 4 years ago, she set out on a mission to solve the many pain-points of engagement ring shopping. There wasn't a market for quality custom designed rings at reasonable prices. There also wasn't a way to try on rings without going to a jewelry store, and going to a jewelry store is a pressure-filled environment with limited options. So she started a business that solved every single one. All while keeping social activism and political prowess at the fore-front.
"There is meaning in every thing we do. We believe business shouldn't be solely about profit margin. It is essential that every decision we make is deliberate, fulfills a need and does good."
-Ashley Kaleihua Messer, Founder + Designer
We believe it is imperative, in today's social climate, that businesses explicitly state their position on gender and love equality. Silence speaks volumes and it is your right to know what kinds of values you are supporting with your business. Because of this, we stand proud in our support for the rights of every person. We believe every person should have the right to be, love and marry whom they want. To support the LGBTQIA communities, we:
1. We do not have mens' and womens' categories or sizes. We have finger sizes. We believe if you want a diamond engagement ring, you should have one, and gender has no part in it.
2. We do not presume that a man is buying a ring for a woman and we're sensitive in the pronouns we use.
3. We do what we can to help those who need it most. 40% of the the homeless youth identify as LGBTQIA due to family rejection. Unfortunately, many homeless shelters are run by religious organizations who also sometimes show opposition to sexual minorities. To help, we donate 5% of our yearly profit to the very few homeless shelters that are specifically trained for LGBTQIA intakes, nationwide, so they can better market their locations, and provide better care.
